Information We Collect
We collect account details such as names, work email addresses, roles, optional workspace display names, authentication data, language preferences, and password reset activity.
We also process account content provided by users, including case records, uploaded legal documents, assistant chats, source metadata, billing plan settings, and usage records needed to operate the service.
How We Use Information
We use information to provide authenticated accounts, manage users and roles, upload and retrieve documents, answer assistant queries, measure token usage, support billing, improve reliability, prevent abuse, and keep user data isolated.
Uploaded Documents and AI Features
Uploaded documents are processed so BlackLetter can index, search, summarize, and ground assistant responses within the relevant account or case context. Users should avoid uploading information they are not authorized to process in BlackLetter.
Sharing and Service Providers
Information may be shared with infrastructure, storage, AI, payment, analytics, security, support, and other service providers when needed to operate BlackLetter. Information may also be disclosed to comply with law, enforce terms, protect rights and safety, or complete a business transaction.
Security and Retention
BlackLetter uses technical and organizational controls intended to protect account information. Data is retained for as long as needed to provide the service, satisfy legal or billing obligations, resolve disputes, maintain audit records, and enforce agreements.
Your Choices
Platform admins can manage users, roles, documents, and billing settings. Users can update supported preferences in the product and may request access, correction, export, or deletion through the normal BlackLetter support channel.
Changes
We may update this policy as BlackLetter changes. The updated version will show a new last updated date and will apply from the date it is posted unless stated otherwise.
